Loft Interior Design Tips
Loft living certainly does cause for creativity. If you have lived in the past in a traditional living space, you may almost be panicked. Don’t be panicked, you may need to adjust your perception. You have space. It is know space that must serve more purposes per each square foot. Your loft may have a main living area, and a small upstairs for sleeping. No matter what your space restrictions or layout of your loft are, you can maximize your space.
Always purchase furniture that serves more than one function. Your furniture could also have extra storage in it. Perhaps your coffee table, has a large hollow area for storage.
Room Dividers
Use room dividers to create different zones in your home. If you really only have one large open space a room divider can afford you privacy for your sleeping area. Use a room divider to hide your bedroom from unexpected visitors. Your room divider may in fact over time, become so private it feels just like a wall.
Eating Areas
Create an eating area that uses the least amount of space. Perhaps you can add a new counter top in your kitchen to serve as an additional seating area. Bar stools can be added as inexpensive seating. The shape of your table, can make it possible to seat 2 to 4 people comfortably. Always measure your eating area, and the space needed for an adult to eat and move their chair back.
Nothing is worse than having a table that looks nice and is presented well. Your guests will love your table linens, and of course your chosen set of seasonal dishes and glasses. However, no one can really comfortably push their chair back to get up during meals, the chairs bang onto the wall, or other structures in your home. Avoid this embarrassing problem, by finding a better shaped table. Take measurements of your available eating area.
Search online for tables that are shaped in a rectangular shape, versus a square. A round or oblong table, may also be able to seat more people than a square table. Consider the shape of your eating area. if the space is square, and not very forgiving find another shaped table that will give you and your guests more space to move while dining.
Creating more space in your loft, is all about perception. Find things that serve dual purposes. Use large room dividers to create rooms, and add privacy. Always measure living areas prior to buying furniture to fit.
