Easy Carpet Stain Removal Tips

While you are living in your home, unless you have no children and only drink water, and host no parties, there inevitably will be stains. Stains on your carpet may cause you to loose your breath, just for a moment. Here are a few tips to help you find the most effective carpet stain removal tips.

Purchase carpet that repels stains.This stain resistant carpet has a coating of chemicals applied during its manufacturing. This process does not automatically keep all stains from showing up on the carpet. What it does do is slow down the absorption of the liquid or substance on the carpet fibers.

All stains should be addressed as soon as you see them. The more time that passes with the stain sitting on the carpet, the greater chance it will cause leave a stain.

If the stain is solid, use a spoon to pick up the solid pieces without further smooshing it into the carpet fibers.

Use a cloth with warm water to gently blot the stain. Use a white or light colored cloth to see when the color is no longer on the cloth.

Use commercial rug cleaner or dish soap mixed with water on the stain. Add a few drops of dish soap to one glass of water.

Let your soap solution soap sit on the stain for a few minutes. Sprinkle with water until the soap is gone.

Put white towel or paper towels on the stain overnight. Place a weighted bowl that does not stain, on the towels to help soak up the water overnight.

Vacuum after the carpet has become completely dry. If your stain has not left, repeat these steps with a commercial cleanser specifically designed to treat the type of carpet that you own.
