Area Rugs

A living room with out an area rug is okay.  However adding an area rug, is a great way to bring all of your chosen design colors together. Other elements in your room that you have chosen to accent with will take on a whole new look.

Area rugs are available at different quality levels and price points. Knowing exactly what your budget is will help you when determining what style of rug will be best for you. Create a list of the colors of your wall, furniture, and accents in the room. Use the color wheel to help you find complimentary and shades of colors in the same color family to explore.

Measure the area that you want to cover. Extend out a tape measure so that you can see how much rug you need. The rug needs to fit the scale of your room. If you live in a studio apartment, you do not need a large rug. You simply need one that will help define that one living area. You could have a nice rug in the kitchen, a different one in the kitchen, and living area.
